Le sud de Londres, et plus précisément Sutton, s’offre une cure santé futuriste : BedZED ou de son grand p’tit nom, le Beddington Zero Emissons Development. Un projet audacieux alliant une architecture éco, des modes de transports moins dommageables et un développement local mis de l’avant. Le but? Un mode de vie responsable et durable tout en étant hyper moderne. Concrètement, le projet vise à :

- Concilier une haute densité d’habitat et l’amélioration de la qualité de vie
- Préserver la ceinture verte et les terres agricoles de l’extension urbaine
- Réduire l’impact environnemental de la régénération urbaine
- Soutenir l’économie et les communautés locales
- S’approvisionner en énergie et matériaux dans la région

Un projet vert qui fleurira un peu partout au pays puisque le ministre Gordon Brown planifie créer 10 autres Ecotowns.

A green project that will flourish around the country since a minister, James Gordon [Prime Minister Gordon Brown, eds.] plans to create ten more Ecotowns.
