Située à 3 km au nord de Vangviang, dans le village de Phoudindaeng, la ferme biologique a été fondée par Thanongsi Soangkoun en 1996. Son but était d'introduire et de promouvoir les méthodes d'agriculture biologique pour une région qui subissait grandement les méfaits de la déforestation et de l'utilisation de substances chimiques. Maintenant, la ferme a poussé (!) et est devenue un véritable éden de différents projets se mariant parfaitement avec l'idée de base. En plus de l'agriculture, on peut y trouver un restaurant utilisant les produits de la ferme, hébergements, lieux de rencontres avec la population locale, etc. De plus, les profits sont redistribués afin d'aider toute la communauté.

Cet endroit est maintenant une destination mythique pour plusieurs "backpackers" qui embarquent volontiers dans l'aventure et sautent sur l'opportunité de faire leur part. Que ce soit pour donner des cours d'anglais, travailler sur la ferme, ou aider à bâtir des habitations, les voyageurs ne sont pas de simples touristes: ils font partie de la communauté.

Located 3 km North of Vangviang, in Phoudindaeng village, this organic farm was founded in 1996 by Thanongsi Soangkoun. His goal was to introduce and promote methods of organic farming in a region that has suffered a great deal from deforestation and the use of chemical substances. Today, the farm has grown (pardon the pun!) and has become a real Garden of Eden overflowing with projects that go hand in hand with the original concept. On top of the agricultural aspect, one can fin a restaurant using products from the farm, lodging, places to meet with the local population, etc. Furthermore, the profits are redistributed in order to help the community.

This spot is now a mythical destination for a lot of backpackers who embark enthusiastically on the adventure and grasp the opportunity to give back, to do their share. Whether it's to give English lessons, work on the farm, or to help build housing, travelers here are no tourists: they are a part of the community.
