Un des projets de bénévolats proposés par l’organisme Eco Volunteer se situe dans le nord-ouest de la Colombie, le long de la côte Pacifique. Il s’agit d’un projet de conservation et de recherche sur la forêt tropicale. Avec ses 90 000 hectares de forêt, la tâche est immense : préserver la richesse naturelle de la faune et de la flore, identifier les ressources pouvant découler des plantes, développer de façon durable le territoire afin de tirer le plein potentiel de ses ressources tout en assurant une viabilité, etc. Vous aurez à effectuer des tâches physiquement difficiles (travailler l’infrastructure de bâtiments, aider au design et à la conception de sentiers, collecter différents matériaux, transporter des fournitures à la station biologique, etc.) mais ô combien valorisantes !

Votre hébergement consiste en une hutte que vous partagerez avec un maximum de 4 autres personnes. Eau courante venant d’une source avoisinante, énergie solaire, cuisinière au gaz, offrent un confort minimal et respectueux de l’environnement. Votre séjour dans cet endroit reclus, en plein cœur de la forêt tropicale colombienne, vous permettra d’apprécier toute la richesse de l’endroit et surtout des gens avec qui vous partagerez cette expérience.

One of the projects proposed by Eco Volunteer (see website in the link section) is located in the northwestern region of Colombia, on the Pacific coast. It is a project centred around research and conservation of the tropical rainforest. With its 90 000 hectares of forest, the job is enormous: preserve the natural richness of the wildlife and flora, identify the resources available in the form of plants, develop sustainable habits on the territory in order to intelligently use the resources while assuring viability, etc. You will have to execute physical tasks (work on housing infrastructures, help on the design and conception of footpaths, collect materials, transport supplies to the biological station, etc.) that you will make you proud of yourself and the great cause you are aiding.

Accommodations consist of a hut that you will share with a maximum of 4 other volunteers. Running water from a nearby creek, solar energy, and gas stove offer minimal comfort, yet respects the environment. Your stay in the heart of the Colombian tropical rainforest will allow you to enjoy all the richness of this place, especially the people you will share this experience with.
